The Baltic Sea Library celebrates two anniversaries this summer

On July 3rd the International Writers and Translators House Ventspils marked its 20th Jubilee, and the Baltic Sea Library was there to celebrate! It was at this very venue that our project began: the Baltic Sea Library was founded during an editors’ meeting at the House back in autumn 2008.

The Baltic Sea Library was also present at the Nordic Summer University, held in July in Saulkrasti, east of Riga, where participants held spontaneous readings of poems by Johannes Bobrowski and Tomas Tranströmer in several different languages.
